MONROVIA CANYON.

It's a wonder that such a vibrant forest exists five minutes above the urban din of the San Gabriel Valley. Monrovia Canyon Park - an oak woodland, chapparal, and riparian forest - is home to bears, grey foxes, bobcats, raccoons, coyotes, and Virginia opossums, most of whom thankfully visit the park only after hours.
The Nature Center is a bright building, staffed by friendly volunteers who love to introduce young visitors to the snakes and bugs kept in terrariums. Displays of local wildlife and plant communities are found throughout the center; picnic areas and barbeque pits can be found just outside.
You can easily handle the 1.5-mile roundtrip Monrovia Falls hike, which brings them to a waterfall with giant boulders to climb. On the way, they'll marvel at small caves, the trickling stream just begging for dipped bare toes, and "The Cathedral" - an area in which the oaks bend to create a domed "room." The hike starts right behind the Nature Center.

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2009. Pasadena

FELIZ 2009.

PERSHING SQUARE - Downtown on Ice.

If you're looking for world-class skating, this is the place.
This is right smack dabb middle in an unsavory area across
the street from the pershing square
redline stationThe ice skating area...
which is just like a huge square
BOX elevated up a bit it seems.I wouldn't want to skate
hereSounds real clubby...and wooden when the
skaters are trying to skate around
-Leagues of highly uncoordinated people grasping the
walls for dear life and occasionally falling directly
in front of someone going full speed?
OK, so it's not the best place to go in town.
But for what it is, it's excellent entertainment.
when 1st arriving downtown & another after leaving the art walk...
they are preparing for a concert of some sort this
weekend on a huge stage beside the rink.
Most of the skaters there can't skate...
and just CLINGto the sides of the rails.
Lots of security around the rink area I noticed
would seem cool for a group of friends.

YES WE CAN!

YES WE CAN – BARACK OBAMA. Music video

Congratulations, Mr. President. -Lyrics-

It was a creed written into the founding
documents that declared the destiny of a nation. Yes we can. It was whispered
by slaves and abolitionists as they blazed a trail toward freedom. ...
